Their relationship introduces Sookie to the complicated supernatural world hidden beneath the surface of Bon Temps.

She soon encounters powerful vampire Eric Northman, her loyal friend Tara Thornton, her brother Jason, shapeshifter Sam Merlotte and many other characters whose lives become increasingly connected to supernatural politics and conflicts.

Seasons 1-7 Story Overview

The early seasons focus on Sookie’s introduction to the vampire community and the mysterious events surrounding Bon Temps.

As her relationship with Bill develops, Sookie discovers that vampires are only one part of a much larger supernatural world.

Later seasons introduce powerful vampire authorities, witches, werewolves and ancient supernatural threats.

Relationships change, alliances break apart and new secrets about Sookie’s own identity begin to emerge.

As tensions between humans and vampires increase, Bon Temps becomes the center of increasingly dangerous conflicts.

The final season brings many of the characters’ long-running stories toward their conclusion as they face the consequences of years of supernatural violence, love, betrayal and sacrifice.
