Description
The Untamed Complete Series DVD Box Set with English Subtitles is a strong choice for viewers who enjoy Chinese fantasy drama, xianxia storytelling, emotional character arcs and mystery-driven adventure. The series follows Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji, two cultivators whose lives become tied to a larger conflict involving powerful clans, hidden secrets and events from the past that continue to shape the present.
About the Series
Also known as Chen Qing Ling, The Untamed is based on Mo Dao Zu Shi by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu and stars Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo. The drama became widely known among international C-drama fans for its worldbuilding, costume design, music, emotional storytelling and the central bond between its two lead characters.
Story & Tone
The story blends fantasy, martial arts, mystery and clan politics. Rather than focusing only on action, The Untamed builds its appeal through past tragedy, personal loyalty, shifting alliances and the slow uncovering of truth. Viewers who enjoy layered storytelling will find the series especially engaging, because the main characters must revisit old events and question what really happened behind the conflicts that shaped their world.
Character Highlights
Wei Wuxian brings energy, intelligence and emotional complexity to the story, while Lan Wangji provides discipline, restraint and quiet loyalty. Their contrast gives the series much of its emotional weight. Supporting characters from the major cultivation clans add family tension, rivalry, political pressure and personal stakes throughout the story.
