Description

Experience the charm of the Scottish Highlands with Monarch of the Glen: The Complete Series, featuring Series 1-7 collected in this extensive 18-disc DVD box set.

Set against the breathtaking landscapes of the Scottish Highlands, the series follows Archie MacDonald, a young London restaurateur who unexpectedly returns to his ancestral family estate, Glenbogle, after learning that his father is supposedly ill.

Upon arriving, Archie discovers that the estate is facing serious financial difficulties. Reluctantly taking responsibility for the family property, he must find a way to save Glenbogle while dealing with eccentric family members, loyal employees, complicated relationships and the challenges of Highland life.

Alongside his parents Hector and Molly MacDonald, housekeeper Lexie McDonald, estate worker Duncan McKay, and other memorable characters, Archie experiences a series of humorous, romantic and emotional adventures.

As the story progresses, new characters and changing family circumstances bring fresh challenges to Glenbogle, exploring themes of family loyalty, friendship, romance, tradition and community.

Based on the Highland novels of Compton Mackenzie, Monarch of the Glen stars Alastair Mackenzie, Susan Hampshire, Richard Briers, Dawn Steele, Alexander Morton and Hamish Clark.

Combining British comedy, family drama, romance and beautiful Scottish scenery, the series became a popular BBC television classic.

This collection includes all 7 series and 64 episodes, bringing together the complete story in one comprehensive 18-disc DVD box set.
