About the Series

Barry Berkman is a former United States Marine who has struggled to find purpose since returning to civilian life.

Emotionally disconnected and dissatisfied with his existence, Barry earns a living as a contract killer under the guidance of Monroe Fuches, a manipulative family friend who manages his assignments.

Although Barry is highly skilled at his profession, he feels increasingly uncomfortable with the violence that defines his life.

Everything changes when he travels to Los Angeles to eliminate a target connected to a criminal organization.

During the assignment, Barry accidentally finds himself attending an acting class led by the eccentric and demanding Gene Cousineau.

Surrounded by aspiring performers, Barry discovers an unexpected sense of belonging.

The students welcome him into their community, and he begins to believe that acting might offer an escape from his destructive lifestyle.

He also develops feelings for Sally Reed, an ambitious actress determined to establish a successful career in Hollywood.

For Barry, the possibility of becoming an actor represents something he has never truly experienced: hope.

But his attempts to start over are repeatedly complicated by the dangerous people connected to his past.

Fuches refuses to lose his most valuable associate, while rival criminal organizations become increasingly involved in Barry’s life.

Among them is NoHo Hank, an unusually cheerful and charismatic member of the Chechen mafia whose personality contrasts sharply with the violence surrounding him.

As Barry attempts to balance his criminal activities with his growing passion for acting, the two worlds begin colliding in increasingly dangerous ways.

His desire for redemption is repeatedly challenged by his own decisions.

Every attempt to escape the consequences of his past seems to create new problems, forcing Barry to confront the uncomfortable truth about who he really is.

Through its four seasons, Barry examines the possibility of personal transformation and the devastating consequences of refusing to take responsibility for one’s actions.

The series combines absurd comedy with intense criminal suspense, emotionally complex relationships, and powerful psychological storytelling.
