About the Series

Fifteen years after a global catastrophe known as Second Impact, humanity faces a new threat.

Powerful beings called Angels begin attacking the fortified city of Tokyo-3, and conventional weapons prove almost useless against them.

NERV, a secretive organization led by Gendo Ikari, develops the Evangelions—giant humanoid machines capable of fighting the Angels.

Shinji Ikari is unexpectedly summoned by his estranged father and ordered to pilot Evangelion Unit-01.

Despite his fear and uncertainty, Shinji becomes one of the key pilots defending humanity.

The Evangelion Pilots

Shinji is joined by other young pilots with very different personalities and backgrounds.

Rei Ayanami, the mysterious pilot of Evangelion Unit-00, appears quiet and emotionally distant while hiding important secrets.

Asuka Langley Soryu, pilot of Evangelion Unit-02, is confident, competitive and determined to prove herself.

As the battles continue, each pilot faces not only the physical danger of fighting the Angels but also personal trauma, loneliness and questions about their own identities.

More Than a Mecha Anime

While Neon Genesis Evangelion features intense battles between giant Evangelions and Angels, the series gradually develops into a much deeper psychological story.

The characters struggle with relationships, fear, isolation and the need for acceptance.

At the same time, mysteries surrounding NERV, the Evangelions and the true nature of the Angels become increasingly important.

As the story progresses, the distinction between humanity’s enemies and its own hidden plans becomes harder to understand.

Complete Neon Genesis Evangelion Collection

With its combination of science fiction, mecha action, psychological drama and complex themes, Neon Genesis Evangelion became a landmark series in anime history.

This 2-disc Blu-ray collection brings together the complete original 26-episode television series, allowing fans to experience Shinji Ikari’s journey from the first Angel attack through the unforgettable conclusion.
